February 23-27

This week Cinnamon had a great deal of fun. She got to be the hostess to one lost dog and had Peter over twice to watch hockey. Her favorite thing in the world is to be able to play the hostess. She prances around and follows her guests, all the while smiling and rubbing on them. The dog was a spaniel that growled at her a little before they figured out that they were o.k. together.

I had found the little dog wandering the neighbourhood at five a.m., and brought her in. She was shy and uncertain at first, so I put her in Tracie's room in the basement. She ate quite a bit of food, and then came out once she had acclimatized a bit. She came upstairs to run a bit with Cinn, and they had a good time.

After I went to work, Tracie tried to find the owners of the dog through the city license. She did son, and they came to get the dog. Apparently, the owner was fairly gruff and felt inconvenienced by the whole thing. He told her that he had let the dog out to give it the run of the neighbourhood. Really, he let it out to go to the bathroom in a yard other than his own. Not the wisest thing to do in a rural neighbourhood that often features predatory animals and larger dogs. There's no accounting for accountability though, I suppose.
