December 19, 2010

We went to the dog park today, and the nasty coat of ice had been replaced by a blanket of snow.  Cinn hardly noticed the cold dusting because she met up with two new friends.  Buddy, a medium sized mutt, played fetch with his owner and Frisco, a tiny four month old puppy ran about.  Cinn and Buddy sniffed one another before going about their business.  Frisco, however, was intent upon playing with my far bigger dog.

They ran about together for a few seconds before I realized that something was wrong with Frisco.  He would run, go sideways, and then stumble.  His owner, a teenage girl, was totally unconcerned.  She saw me looking, and told me that he had been born four months ago with serious brain damage.  The vet told her that he would never be able to run and play, so she was very happy with that he had not been correct.

Cinn was great with the little guy.  They ran and bowed and wagged and barked, and all the while she was careful not to run over her tiny friend.  As always, Cinnamon demonstrated that she holds all of the important qualities that a being can posess.

December 14,2010

Cinn has had a good couple of weeks.  The snow has melted and the ground has been armoured in that slushy, sleety mess that we see every spring and fall.  In spite of the slippy, slidey hazard; Cinn has bounded out the door for physical activity every time that I hold it open wide enough for her to squeeze out.

She has not seen many of her friends at the doggy park lately because they have the good sense not to venture out onto the ice that could give their owners a broken hip.  She runs around it like a sure footed mountain goat though.  That said, the cool temperatures and treacherous ground are a small price to pay to see her big puppy smile.

December 1, 2010

Cinn's had a good month.  We have visited the dog park quite a few times, and the usage of the park has gone up overall.  Some nights there have been five or six other dogs running around, while their owners watch and play with them.  Cinn really likes little dogs, like her friend N.V. (named for the Nicola Valley apparently).  The last few nights, a dog named Hunter has been there to play with her.  She has been happy and hyper throughout the month, and still goes crazy whenever she gets to go to the park, or to pick up breakfast for Tracie on a weekend morning.
